Writer’s Block: The Eternal Struggle

I’ve recently put something new together. Well, more accurately, out of the variety of things I’ve attempted to put together, I’ve recently found something that stuck. I very rarely produce completed songs as regularly as I’d like to.  I suppose that’s good in a sense; I have no desire to finish songs simply to say I have more songs.  Some ideas just don’t translate as well on paper.

Anyway, I’ve deemed a new song “completed”, though not set in stone. I may change a few lyrics, and I haven’t decided on a title yet. I’m thinking something along the lines of Run Away Again. I don’t intend to go into detail about what it’s all about (I like the idea of listener interpretation in most of what I do), but the apparent theme is feeling shortchanged by surroundings.

Hopefully, I’ll have it worked out in its entirety soon and be able to get feedback from playing out. It didn’t write itself as easily as some have and in the realm of what I’ve done, I wouldn’t call it ground breaking, but I like the feel of it.

This round is mine, Writer’s Block.
